In October 2025, HumanGood and Beacon Development Group unveiled two amazing renovations to HumanGood Affordable Housing in Norco, California and Eugene, Oregon. These preservation projects allowed for improvements to community spaces, individual units and created longevity of housing for the senior residents.
Clark Terrace, based in Norco, California, was able to provide their residents with improved community spaces like the gym, laundry room, community room, and mail room. Residents were introduced to their updated apartments with new cabinetry, countertops, thermostat, accessible features like pull down spice and dish racks, countertop lighting, extenders, and pull-out features for more counterspace. Since coming back to their units, the residents have been raving about these new upgrades. Congratulations to the project team and our partners, Walton Construction and D33 Design & Planning.
Olive Plaza, located in Eugene, Oregon, was an acquisition-preservation project that underwent a critical renovation that extended the useful life of the building and extended the Section 8 HAP for an additional 20-years to keep the housing affordable for the seniors in Eugene. The rehabilitation took a year and a half to complete, the improvements and preservation reflect the values of the City of Eugene. Shuan Donovan, CEO of Enterprise Community Partners and former HUD secretary, attended the grand reopening and spoke of the importance of preservation of affordable housing
Improvements to Olive Plaza were new windows, exterior cladding, upgraded offices, mail room and conference room. Residents are greeted by a new elevator lobby, along with upgrades to their units. Olive Plaza now houses new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The residents now get to enjoy the newly located Library dedicated to the late Randy Stamper, a HumanGood Board Chair who was instrumental in the preservation of this community. Congratulations to the project team and our partners Walsh Construction and BDA Architecture & Planning.
