Beacon Development Group team members traveled to Leavenworth, Washington, for their 2026 strategic planning retreat. The location was chosen for its mountain and farmland setting, which reflects Beacon’s roots in developing affordable farmworker housing. The environmentally sustainable retreat site gave team members time to recharge, connect with colleagues, and renew their shared commitment to serving others.
During the retreat, the team celebrated shared accomplishments and individual successes. Teams then met in functional groups—construction management, asset management, project management, and CSC support—to set team goals aligned with Beacon’s mission and HumanGood Affordable Housing’s broader objectives. They also discussed needed resources, industry challenges, and outlined opportunities to adapt, innovate, and grow.
The retreat also included team-building activities and friendly competition. This year’s events featured an outdoor scavenger hunt, a dinner murder mystery, and the crowd favorite, Name That Tune.
On the final day of the retreat, Beacon team members split into two volunteer opportunities to support the local community.
Beacon’s indoor volunteer team packed donation boxes for Upper Valley MEND, which serves people throughout the Upper Wenatchee Valley. Beacon donated more than 528 pounds of food, along with paper goods, hygiene items, and other essential supplies.
Beacon’s outdoor volunteer team partnered with the Wenatchee River Institute to remove invasive plants. By clearing invasive species, Beacon helped create more space for native plants to grow.
